OUR ONLY runners last week came at Newton Abbot on Monday and it was a shame that amateur James Shaw parted company with Final Entry with a circuit to go. While frustrating, that is what can happen and both horse and jockey are fine which is the main thing.

Our first runners of this week come at Worcester on Wednesday. Our entries are headed by Karnaval Point going back up in trip to 2m7f . Affection will have just her second start over hurdles in the juvenile fillies contest.

Rian Corcoran rides both Karnaval Point and October Hill who completes our trio.

Keep checking the Daily News on the website for more news of our runners.

We did have Way of Stars entered in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket on Saturday but have decided he will head to Chepstow instead.

Belfrina is our only other Chepstow entry and she is entered in the mare’s handicap hurdle on Saturday. She has a big engine and is the type to progress up through the ranks this season.

You don’t need me to tell you there has not been much rain in recent weeks and we need some more!

The opening fixture due to take place at Exeter next week has been abandoned as has Wincanton’s opener on October 25.

We held our David Pipe Racing Club Open Morning during September and we were delighted to be able to send off a cheque to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance for £500 as a result of this morning and through the sales of our 2026-27 Horse in Training Brochure.

A few more of our horses in training to follow this winter: OCEAN HEIGHTS - A winner of a bumper and four flat races and finally more recently over hurdles! Advancing in years but the sparkle is still there and another Jack Pipe has his eye on for amateur flat races in the winter on the all-weather.

OCTOBER HILL - A winner for the first time over hurdles at Ffos Las earlier this season which was a deserved success. She is a nice big mare who we are likely to try over fences at some point as well.

PACHACUTI - A winner of a chase and a hurdle race in his career, his best effort last season was a close second over hurdles at Ffos Las. It will be lovely for our amateur jockeys to get to have an opportunity and he could potentially do very well, fingers crossed!

PARCHMENT - A gorgeous son of Triple Threat he was probably our most talked about horse in the yard twelve months ago and that came back to haunt us! Last season he was bitterly disappointing but he is a huge talent, fingers crossed we will see the real him over hurdles this season.

PHANTOMOFTHEPOINTS - The winner of three hurdle races so far he started last season with a fantastic run in at Haydock to be third again. He has had some surgery to help his back during the summer and he is a nice big horse and we may try him over fences again.

PURPLE OWL - The winner of an Irish point to point, he has finished runner up in two hurdle races. Has not quite translated his good homework to the racecourse but more than capable of winning races over hurdles and fences.
