IT’S BEEN another quiet week for us as we wait for much needed rain. Affection ran on the all-weather at Southwell and while unplaced she again was not beaten very far. With some more help from the handicapper she can be winning races.

Karnaval Point and Martin’s Denuo both ran at Worcester on Friday. Karnaval Point ran his usual honest race, carrying top weight to be sixth. He will appreciate some help from the handicapper and probably a bit further in distance. Martin’s Denuo found the ground too soft and will be better on a sounder surface next time.

We start this week with two runners at Newton Abbot, Savanna Storm and Final Entry.

We are then quiet for the rest of the week as we wait for rain but keep checking the Daily News on the website for all the latest information.

We have just acquired a lovely three-year-old from France called Night Agent and he is looking for an owner. He has just had the three career starts to-date in France, and won over hurdles on his latest start at Auteuil.

He has just arrived with us, is settling in well and he measured in at just under 16.2hh. He has a rating of 116 over hurdles already and there are plenty of options for him going forwards.

A few more of our horses in training to follow this winter - MONA LISA D’AMSYL: A new recruit from the French sales she has progressed in her four starts over hurdles to win on her final start in France. She has a lovely temperament and we are looking forward to getting her started over hurdles in Britain.

NAVARAU: Purchased as a two-year-old store in France, he had just the one start over hurdles at Taunton last season where he ran with promise to be third. An athletic, forward going type, he works nicely at home and could be an interesting name to follow over hurdles this season.

NEON MOON: He may be in his veteran years but Neon Moon has been a wonderful horse for us all. He is an eight-time career winner and his win last season came at Ascot under Harry Cobden.

NICOMEDE: A lovely three-year-old who has joined us from France this summer after being bought privately from a trainer we have done well from in the past. Plenty of size and scope we are very much looking forward to him running in juvenile hurdles this winter. Has a great temperament to match his talent and one we are excited about for the winter ahead.

NO WALKOVER: A gorgeous big five-year-old who won two bumpers last season and we hold him in very high regard. We turned him away when the ground dried and he is a very exciting prospect for novice hurdling this season.

NORR’S CROSS: He measures just over 17hh and he is a lovely big chasing type. Bought at the sales in 2024 he suffered an injury the day before he was due to make his stable debut. We have given him all the time he needs so fingers crossed for a trouble free passage and he could be a name to follow over hurdles.
