A BLUE Anchor caravan park is among Hoburne Holidays venues which have won a national dog friendly award for making sure pets, as well as their owners, have enjoyable holidays.
Hoburne came second in the holiday parks category.
Hoburne operations director Sandra Mueller said: “The dog friendly awards are decided by a public vote so we are delighted to have received this seal of approval from our pet-loving owners and visitors.
“We understand that pets are part of the family, which is why they are welcomed here free of charge, because every dog deserves a holiday, too.
“Our caravans and lodges are designed to be dog-friendly right up to the most premium level accommodation and we offer a menu from canine ice cream to specially designed sausages and burgers.”
Hoburne Blue Anchor has a nearby all-season dog-friendly beach, plus designated caravans designed for four-legged friends with gated decking and other canine facilities.
Dog Friendly awards general manager James Waters said: “Our awards competition is entirely based on votes from the businesses' customers and followers.
“Almost 400 businesses competed in this year's competition, so they are obviously treating their doggy guests very well."
Rich and Mandy Whitton said they bought their Hoburne holiday home because of Reggie, their bulldog.
Mr Whitton said: “We booked in for a weekend and the dog did not stop wagging his tail from the minute we got there until the minute we left so, before we went home, I went in and bought a holiday home there and then.
“I just knew I had to get him one.
“The name plaque on the front reads ‘Reggie’s Retreat’, so it is clear whose it is.”
Hoburne also recently won a bronze Dorset Tourism Award, has five-star ratings from Visit England, and is a Which? recommended provider.
