ONE person was injured when a car ended up on its roof in the middle of the road early on Monday morning (January 19) in a single-vehicle accident in Blue Anchor.

The car was believed to have hit a low wall at the entrance to a house on the nearside of the B3191 road to Carhampton before flipping upside down.

Nearby residents were woken by the sound of two loud bangs at about 7 am.

Two police cars and a double-crewed land ambulance attended the scene near Blue Anchor Garage and paramedics treated the driver for minor cuts.

The road recently saw a 20 mph speed limit introduced after a campaign by residents to mitigate the effects of the B3191 closure to Watchet following cliff erosion in 2023.
