OAKE Manor Golf Club’s John Ball held his Captain’s Charity Day on Saturday with 176 golfers taking part.

They played a 4 Ball Shambles Competition with 2 shot gun starts, one in the morning and second in the afternoon.

A total of £3,039.05 was raised for the Captain’s Charity, the Alfie Nick Foundation, through sponsors, raffle and the golf competition.

The winners with 101 points were Daniel Moore, Keith Cooper, Darren Cornwall and Vic Burgos. In second place with 100 points were Hal White, Neil Hallett, Sam Hallett and Jim Ward while third were Martin Adams, Oliver Beynon, Ben Chinn and William Chinnwith with 99 points.

Nearest the pin prizes went to Rolly Phillips, Jamie Tong x2 and Dave Hill.

On Sunday was the annual Friends and Family Better Ball Pairs Competition. Tom Brewer and Dave Hill were the winners with nett 61, Callum Foster and Olly Rutland were second with nett 62 while Paul Coleman and Bob Tye were third with net 63.

The Seniors played a Waltzing Bowmaker Competition on Monday in teams of three. Mark Lecompte, Ian Ramus and Jamie Robertson came first with 76 points while Colin Brown, Richard Crouch and Mike Amos were second with 70 points and Ian Hockey, Leslie Hamp and Gary White were third, also with 70 points.

Julie Cross scored 34 points to win division 1 of the Ladies Stableford Competition on Tuesday, Kate Foster was second with 33 points and Daphney Priddy came third with 31 points.

Anne Goodwin won division 2 with 40 points, the top score of the day, while Catherine Drysdale came second with 39 points and Sandra Lawrence was third with 34 points.

Andrew Thompson won the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition, scoring 40 points, Sam Prior came a close second, also with 40 points, while Matthew Forknall was third with 38 points.
