THE FORMER captains of Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club’s Ladies Section competed against one another as they looked to win the Past Captains Salver.
Last year’s Captain Ginnette Bowyer was first with 39 stableford points; second was Anne Oglesby with 36 points.
New members Cath and Hazel Binding played an ‘Australian Spoons’ qualifier away at Falmouth having won the competition here at Minehead earlier in the season.
They scored a very impressive 38 points coming second in a foursomes competition.
Ros Chidgey and Sue Garwood represented the club away at Yeovil in the Coronation Foursomes qualifier, having also won the competition here earlier in the season.
The summer’s internal matchplay knockout competitions continue with the final of the Coronation Cup contended for, which saw Sarah Hill beat Ginnette Bowyer to claim the cup.
The Leukaemic Trophy was competed for, won by Ginnette Bowyer with a score of nett 68, with Anne Oglesby in second place, just one shot behind.
