WATCHET Reserves faced Stogursey in Division Two for the second week running and picked up three welcome points with a 1-0 home win.

The visitors looked the more likely scorers in the first half with the wind behind them, and they struck the bar as well as having other near misses.

The Red and Blacks were able to get the ball down more after the interval and they broke the deadlock midway through when Charley Clausen’s perfectly-weighted through pass sent Josh Aspey away down the middle to sweep a first time shot past the keeper.

Stogursey tried to mount a late rally but found Watchet in no mood to surrender the lead as they had done the previous week.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Watchet Reserves host Fry Club B in the Somerset Intermediate Cup (ko 1.45pm).

Division One saw Alcombe Rovers draw 3-3 at home to Locomotive, while Bishops Lydeard Reserves lost 4-1 away to Gallery.

In Division Three, Minehead Reserves were given a 5-0 drubbing by Ash Rangers at Irnham Road, with the visitors showing why they are the division’s only side with a 100 per cent record.

Exmoor Rangers enjoyed a 5-1 win away to Nether Stowey in the Rowbarton Charity Cup.
