PORLOCK, who have enjoyed a successful season, have applied to join the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League.

Porlock finished runners-up in the Premier Divison of the Centregreat Taunton & District Saturday League - and also reached two cup finals.

Porlock’s first team manager James Griffiths has confirmed his side has applied to join the county league but added: “We’re hopeful but the league mostly accept teams who have won their division.”

Wembdon won the Premier Division in the Saturday League, finishing ten points clear of Porlock, with North Petherton a further four points adrift.

In their last league match of the season on Saturday, April 18, Wembdon were held to a 2-2 home draw by Dunwear United who finished fourth. In the only other game played last weekend, Bridgwater Grasshoppers gained a 7-2 home success against Wyvern United who face relegation after finishing bottom of the table.
