MINEHEAD will be looking to bounce back after two successive defeats when they play away to Ashcott in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, August 30.

However, Minehead face another tough game against a side who have made an unbeaten start to the season, having won twice and drawn one.

Minehead have lost to Peasedown Miners Welfare and Burnham United since opening the season with a 2-0 away victory over Winscombe.

Peasedown are the early leaders of the division, having won their opening three matches.

Division One fixtures for Saturday, August 30: Ashcott v Minehead, Bishop Sutton v Winscombe, Combe St Nicholas v Burnham United, Glastonbury v Sporting Weston, Imperial v Wrington Redhill, Portishead Town Reserves v Peasedown Miners Welfare, Westfield v Clutton.

Meanwhile Minehead Reserves kick off their season in the Taunton Saturday League with a game against Bridgwater Grasshoppers in the KO Cup at the Bridgwater College Academy on Wednesday, September 3 (8p.m.).

There is a full programme of matches in the league the following Saturday, September 6, with Porlock playing away to Galmington in the Premier Division, while Alcombe Rovers are away to Nether Stowey in Division One.

In Division Two, Porlock Reserves entertain Bridgwater Wolves Colts while Watchet Town Reserves are home to Galmington Reserves. Minehead Colts are away to Bridgwater & Albion.

The Somerset Sunday League starts on September 7 with AFC Dunster's opening match being at home to Mariners in the first division while Carrs Crusaders play at home to PSV psv. The only other game in the top division is between Wyvern Wanderers and Trinity Rangers.

In Division Two, Williton Sunday are at home to Allerford FC while Carhampton are away to Cotford Rovers.

Only eight teams are playing in Division One and there are only nine in Division Two.
