REPRESENTATIVES from Minehead AFC have travelled to the club's twin town of Saint-Berthevin, France, for a successful visit aimed at developing stronger sporting and community links between the towns.

The delegation included the club chairman, vice chair, groundsman, U11 coaches and their children, who spent a number of days in Saint-Berthevin participating in a local football tournament and building relationships.

The visit forms part of Minehead AFC's long-term ambition to establish a lasting partnership between the football clubs and communities of Minehead and Saint-Berthevin. The club hopes this will lead to regular tours and exchange opportunities for players, coaches, volunteers and members from across the organisation.

A key element of the visit was participation in a locally organised football tournament, providing valuable playing experience for the young players while also strengthening the connection between the two clubs.

Minehead AFC representatives also undertook a detailed review of the arrangements required for future tours, assessing travel options, accommodation facilities and the practical logistics involved in bringing larger groups from Minehead in the years ahead.

Throughout the visit, the Minehead AFC delegation received a warm welcome from representatives of the Saint-Berthevin Twinning Committee and Saint-Berthevin Football Club. Their hospitality and support played a significant role in ensuring the success of the trip.

Club representatives believe the visit marks an important first step in developing a long-term relationship that will create exciting opportunities for both communities, strengthening friendships and promoting cultural exchange through football.
