PORLOCK hosted Wyvern United in the Premier Division of the Taunton and District Saturday League on Saturday afternoon with several of their first team regulars missing from the line up.

The game started off evenly and in the opening few minutes both teams had their chances to score but failed to take them.

In the end however it was a bit of magic from Jack Evans who broke the deadlock when he danced around the defence before putting the ball into the back of the net, which was the only goal of the opening 45 minutes.

The second half started with the hosts in full control, and they were soon rewarded by another spectacular run and finish from Jack Evans to double the lead.

Wyvern started to push back put Porlock’s work rate couldn’t be matched and they stayed in command until very late on Wyvern pulled one back with a free kick that beat stand in keeper Connor Paterson.

The Man of the Match was Jack Evans
