CROWCOMBE will be looking to clinch the runners-up spot in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League when they play at home to Bagborough on Saturday, September 5.

It is the only game remaining in the top division. Crowcombe trail second-placed and last season’s champions Watchet by 15 points while Bagborough are down in seventh spot, but certain of playing in the top division next season following the withdrawal of Brompton Ralph and Sampford Arundel.

Top match in the second division is the game between Stoke St Mary and Lydeard St Lawrence, while Stogumber are due to play away to Cutcombe.

Minehead, who won the third division title some time ago and have pulled off a league and cup double, complete a memorable season with an away fixture against Wiveliscombe’s second string. It will be the last game of the season for both sides.

There are three fixtures in Division Four with East Huntspill at home to Roadwater, Brompton Ralph are away to Spaxton while Stogumber entertain Taunton Deane.

The following weekend Morebath will end a successful season in the first division by playing away to Over Stowey, bringing the curtain down on the top division.

There are four other games to round off the season - one in Division Three and three in Division Four.
