MINEHEAD will be looking to keep up the pressure at the top of the Premier Division in the Somerset Cricket League when they play away to early leaders Taunton Deane 2nd XI on Saturday, May 30.

Minehead are up to second in the table following their 111-run home victory over Bridgwater 3rd XI last weekend. Star of their big win was skipper Dan Bowditch who scored 118 with 13 fours and five sixes as the seasiders scored 280-6 in 45 overs.

Bridgwater were bowled out for 169 with Harry Tudball (3-32) and Harry Swann (3-33) spearheading the bowling attack.

Minehead are six points behind the Deane, both sides having played the same number of matches.

Castle Cary are only one point behind Minehead in third place after their 124-run success against Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI.

Meanwhile, Minehead 2nd XI will be hoping to get off the mark when they play at home to Chard Seconds in Division Three of the Somerset League.

Minehead have lost three of their opening four matches and are bottom of the table, one point behind Middlezoy.

North Curry are the early leaders of the division after winning three of their four games, while Shaftsbury Road are only two points behind.

Wiveliscombe, who are in sixth spot, entertain Taunton Deane 3rd XI.
