A WOMAN has been fined £200 and ordered to pay compensation and costs totalling £361 after admitting stealing from two Minehead supermarkets and assaulting a security guard.

Rebecca Richert, aged 45, of Hawthorne Road, Minehead, admitted all three offences when she appeared before magistrates in Taunton.

Prosecuting solicitor Jenna Morgan said all the offences occurred during March of this year.

Richert together with another person whose identity was unknown, stole meat valued at £205.75 from Minehead’s Co-op store on March 23 and then £150 of meat from Lidl on March 30.

Following the second theft she assaulted by beating a Lidl security guard on March 31.

Chairman of the bench Timothy Holden took Richert’s guilty pleas into account and consolidated his sentencing into one set of fines and costs.
