EXPLORE hidden treasure, discover fascinating stories, and step behind the scenes of Dunster Castle at an exclusive experience day in February.

The Dunster Experience Day is a chance to spend the day with Dunster Castle's Collections and House Manager, including a bespoke tour, hands-on conservation, and a two-course lunch.

The event will be held on Tuesday, February 24, from 10 am to 4 pm at £65 a ticket.

The experience starts with refreshments and an introductory talk by Lydia Rys, the Collections and House Manager.

Next, there will be a bespoke tour of the castle, including exclusive access to areas normally closed to the public.

This is a chance to dive deeper into the castle’s rich history, remarkable objects, and the intriguing characters who once lived at the Castle.

After the tour, attendees can relax at the Watermill Tearoom with a delicious two-course lunch, accompanied by Lydia, who will be on hand to chat and answer questions.

In the afternoon, attendees will return to the castle for a hands-on conservation workshop where they will learn about the techniques used to care for the collection and try cleaning historic objects.

Finally, the day will round off with a visit to the Stables Shop, where visitors can browse for souvenirs and local products before heading home.

Visitors are asked to wear sensible, flat shoes, come well wrapped up and bring waterproof clothing as there is some outdoor walking involved.

There is a steep hill leading up to the castle. Changes of levels, steep and uneven steps and confined spaces within the tour route.

Dunster Experience Day is recommended for visits aged 13 and over.
