HUNDREDS took part in the South West Coast Ultra Challenge at Minehead, one of a series of events held throughout the country raising money for various charities.

The Minehead event was so big that overnight camping tents housed many of those taking part, the start being at Dunster Castle polo grounds.

Those in the 50k set off at 7 a.m., with those in the 25k and 10k beginning their 'walk, jog or run' later.

Such challenges are held all over the world and have raised millions of pounds for various charities.
