TEAMS showed their skills to win their way through to the final of a prestigious skittles competition.
The Watchet and District Men’s Skittles League Front Pin Cup Semi Finals were held on Monday, March 16.
The first semi-final saw Bell All Stars take on Three Ferrets at the Wyndham Arms.
All Stars held a 24 pin advantage at half time but an improved performance from the Ferrets in the second half saw them reduce to 12 pins at full time.
Andy Milton hit 82 for the Stars whilst Ferrets Chris Adams topped the alley with 83.
The second semi-final was played at the Bell Inn between Allsorts and Castaways. Castaways had established a useful 37 pin lead by half-time but a much improved second half display from Allsorts saw them book their place in the final by just four pins.
Brian Bishop led the winners scoring with 90 whilst Lewis Penfold topped the alley with 95 for Castaways.
Elsewhere a three way play off was held at Watchet Football Club Old Alley between Dungbeetles, Rams and Wyndham Pinheads to decide the winners and runners up of the Landlords Cup group B.
Dungbeetles held a 19 pin lead at half-time over Rams with Wyndham Pinheads 47 pins off the lead.
Dungbeetles led by Tyler Kendall with 117 managed to hold on to secure their group winners place whilst Rams and Wyndham Pinheads fought out the runners up spot.
A score of 109 from Pinheads Dan Biggs and Sam Towells led pinheads to a narrow two pin win to secure runners up, Alf Goble with 111 led Rams scoring.
The final of the Front Pin Cup will be held on Monday, March 23 along with the two semi-finals of the Landlords Cup.
