WEEK six in the Watchet & District Skittles League produced several matches with narrow victories, writes secretary Alan Bulpin .
None more so than in the Premier Division at the Football Club where Q C Guys held a 31 pin lead at the interval over leaders Bell All Stars with Archie Walsh leading the home side’s scoring with 62. However, a second half team score of 345, with Andy Milton knocking 79 to finish top of the alley with 122, brought the visitors an unlikely five pin victory, Graham Muckersie leading the home side with 114.
A score of 105 from Allsorts Ryan Doddridge led to them completing the double over Castaways by 44 pins. The hosts Mike Lane topped the alley with 106. A closely contested match at the White Horse, Stogumber, saw the Stallions, whose Jos Bennett and Alistair Benham both hit 97, record a narrow six pin home success over Phoenix Knights for whom Connor Jeromson also scored 97. A score of 98 from both Martyn Baker and Chris Adams led Three Ferrets to a 14 pin away victory against Has Beens whose Mark Clausen hit 97.
