A TOP of the alley score of 105 from Bell All Stars’ Warren Knight and Andy Bryant in the Premier Division of the Watchet Men’s Skittles League ensured a comfortable 72 pin away win over a spirited White Horse Stallions side whose Eli Hayes led their scoring with 94, writes Alan Bulpin.
An impressive knock of 141 from Bottoms Up Ross Sweetland keeps them in touch with the league leaders with a convincing 89 pin success against Phoenix Knights, Matt Snell being top for the visitors with 106.
At the Football Club Mike Stout hit 112 for Q C Guys as they defeated Three Ferrets by 35 pins, Ashley Baker leading their scoring with 106. The match at the Carew Arms between Rebels and Castaways went the way of the visitors seeing them to a 31 pin victory, Nev Weir hitting 97 for the home side.
Has Beens had four players hitting a ton plus with Mark Clausen hitting a top of the alley 115 as they ran out 68 pin winners over Railway Steamers whose skipper Matt Burns topped their scoring with 98. In a high scoring game at the British Legion, Jacks’ Andy Norman topped the scoring as he hit 126 but ended up on the losing side as 123 from Graham Rogers steered Allsorts to a 51 pin victory. In the top of the table clash at the Minehead Social Club in Division A, Williton Club’s Steve King hit the only three figure score of the night of 105 to lead them to a 25 pin success over Dungbeetles whose Tyler Kendall and Gary Kendall both hit 98. These two teams are joint top locked on 20 points.
Robbie Whitehead hit 100 for Wyndham Pinheads in their 19 pin home win over Dizzy’s Boys who had Jamie Williams top of the alley with 105.
In a closely fought match on the old alley at the Football Club an inspiring score of 125 from Footy Fockers’ Gavin Badger led them to a narrow 10 pin victory over Barn Owls who had Duncan Munroe hitting 107.
Watchet Specials and Wyndham Warriors took part in an exciting match at the Football Club with Specials Daniel Perkins knocking a superb 137 and Warriors’ Chris Williams 114 that ended with both sides scoring 575.
