RESULT of the week in the Watchet & District Skittles League goes to White Horse Stallions who travelled to the Bell Inn and produced a battling performance to inflict a 10-pin defeat on leaders Bell All Stars, writes Alan Bulpin.
Zak Rexworthy led the Stallions’ scoring with 113 with Adam Taplin hitting 111 for the Stars.
Taking advantage of this result, Bottoms Up’s Brandon Walsh knocked 118 to lead them to a 35 pin away win over Phoenix Knights whose Eban Harding scored 110; they are now joint leaders of the division.
Team performance of the week belongs to Allsorts who had each player scoring 105 or more with pride of place going to Graham Rogers who amassed an outstanding 150 in the 128-pin victory against Jack, Steve Bosley hitting 112 for the losers.
Castaways stay in the chasing pack after Nick Lane hit 109 in their 71 pin home win over Rebels, Nev Weir topping the alley for the visitors with 114.
Rob Norman scored 107 for Three Ferrets as they defeated Q C Guys by 28 pins, Mike Stout hitting 105, and Dan Gilpin knocked 100 for Railway Steamers in their 21 pin home win over Has Beens whose Stuart Mitcham scored 92. Highest Away Score: Archie Walsh 144 Q C Guys.
The re-match of the top of the table clash in Division A at Williton Social Club produced a low scoring match in which none of the twelve players managed a three figure score. Alan Bland topped the alley with 99 for the home side as they ran out 20 pin winners over Dungbeetles whose Phil Hayes hit 97.
Wyndham Pinheads move into second place after Andy Pegg and Ian Whitehead both hit 105 in the 41-pin success over Dizzy’s Boys who had Mark Mossman scoring 103.
Barn Owls’ Duncan Munro scored 98 leading them to a 30 pin home win against Footy Fockers whose Andy Porter scored 97. Haddon Hillbillies were awarded the points due to Rams being unable to raise a side.
A brace of 101 from Wyndham Warriors Stu Ford and Phil Trunks saw them to a 28 pin over Watchet Specials who had Daniel Perkins topping then alley with 110. Away Score: Phil Champion 126 Wyndham Warriors.
