MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 15s can be proud of their display, despite losing 47-24 away to their Bath counterparts in their opening league match of the season.

From the first whistle, the young Barbarians showed plenty of fight and determination against a strong Bath side. The visitors never stopped competing and, even when the game started to slip away, the boys kept battling until the final whistle.

The four tries for Minehead saw Billy, Jesse, Arthur and Ben all getting over the line, with Fred Bishop and Fin Penny adding a couple of conversions.

There were some really good passages of rugby and plenty of things for the West Somerset side to take away and work on. This was just their first game of a long season that lies ahead. The Gladiator of the Match went to Fred Bishop who put in a truly fantastic performance; the Barbarian of the Match was won by Tom Ellicott for huge effort and commitment.
