FIVE girls from Minehead Barbarians were in the 22-strong Somerset under 15s squad which competed in the South West Counties Festival at Frome on Sunday.

Gemma Batts, Hannah Delbridge, Emily Kingston, Chelsea Jones and Sam Milliship helped Somerset to top their group and go on to win the under 15 competition.

The county’s under 18s also won their age group.

Also playing at the festival was Alice Knight, a former Barbarians player who now plays for North Dorset RC.

In the Dorset and Wilts Under 18 squad, Alice started playing rugby at West Somerset College and spent a season with the Barbarians before moving to North Dorset.
