ALEX Pope, a former manager of Minehead, has left Tiverton Town after joining them at the beginning of the season as head coach.

Pope, who turned down the chance of becoming manager of Wellington in May, said today (Thurs): “It was not a right fit. It was a big commitment and it was taking time away from my business."

Pope quit Wellington at the end of last season along with joint manager Tim Legg who has since joined Chard Town - as a player.

Pope joined Tiverton just before the season started.
