MINEHEAD Barbarians will be looking to bounce back after their high-scoring defeat at Avon when they play at home to Castle Cary in Counties Two Somerset South on Saturday, January 17 (2.30p.m.).

The Babas suffered a 39-34 loss at Avon but held on to third place in the division, although they are now 19 points behind the leaders Clevedon.

Minehead would be expected to beat Cary who are lying ninth in the table with only four victories this season.

Clevedon, who have a three-point lead at the top of the table over second-placed Burnham on Sea, are away to Oldfield Old Boys who are in eighth spot.

Burnham face an away trip against Imperial who are lying sixth with five victories, one draw and five defeats.

St Bernadettes, who are one place below the Babas in the table, are away to Keynsham in tenth spot.

Milverton-based Rebels Rugby, who are bottom, play away to Chew Valley 2nd XV who are one place above them.

The Babas’ second string were very much second best last weekend when they lost 67-11 at home to Burnham on Sea who have a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Burnham play at home to Wells who are lying seventh in the table with four victories from their nine outings.
