MINEHEAD are still in with a chance of promotion despite losing their last two matches in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League.

However, they have slipped back to third spot, 11 points behind second placed Temple Cloud and 18 points adrift of leaders Long Sutton.

Last weekend's six-wicket home loss to Temple Cloud has meant Minehead will almost certainly have to win their last two matches to make a quick return to the Somerset Division in the West of England Premier League.

Weather permitting, Minehead play at Frome today (Sat) against a side struggling at the bottom of the table. They should be capable of winning which means they will be nicely set up for their home clash with leaders Long Sutton on the last day of the season - on Saturday, September 2.

Long Sutton are home to sixth-placed Taunton Deane tomorrow while Temple Cloud are also home - to Bridgwater who are lying fifth.

Minehead 2nd XI, who were involved in a rain-affected away draw with Churchill last weekend, are home to Street in Division Three of the Somerset League tomorrow, while Wiveliscombe are without a game in this division after losing by 12 runs at home to Taunton Deane last Saturday.

Minehead 3rd XI, who won by 178 runs at home to Roadwater in the fourth division of the West Somerset League, are away to East Huntspill and are still in with a chance of catching leaders Sampford Arundel.

Kilve, leaders of the first division in the West Somerset League, will be chasing their 12th win of the season when they play at home to Brompton Ralph who are lying fifth and a long-way off the fight for the title.

Kilve have an 11-point lead over second placed Bagborough who are without a game - and also have two matches in hand on the two teams below them.

Ashbrittle, 38 points clear at the top of the second division, are home to Roadwater who are lying sixth, 109 points behind the leaders.
