PUPILS from Minehead First School and Minehead Middle School Judo Club recently enjoyed a visit from Ben Fletcher, who represented Team GB at the Rio Olympics.

They had the opportunity to find out about judo competitions and how much training Ben has to do as an Olympic athlete, as well as a demonstration of how to “throw”. And seven children and the headteacher had the opportunity to throw Ben himself.

The visit was arranged by Nigel McBrayne, head coach of Mac’s School of Judo, which is based at the first school.
