MINEHEAD have put in seven days notice of approach for Watchet Town’s goalkeeper Jack Harding.
However, Watchet have refused to waive the seven days before they can speak to him.
Minehead boss Lee Todd said: “We were looking at next season in mind but we haven’t been able to speak to him.”
Meanwhile, Minehead will be looking to bounce back after their 4-1 loss at Westfield when they play away to struggling Bishop Sutton in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, March 7.
Bishop Sutton have won only three of their 21 matches and Lee has described it as a ‘must-win’ game for his side who have slipped to ninth in the table. While they are not in the relegation zone, they could be if they do not start winning games and the teams below them - in particular Wrington Redhill, Winscombe and Clutton - win their games in hand.
Three sides go down with Bishop Sutton and Keynsham Town Reserves in deep trouble
Meanwhile Watchet play away in the Premier Division to Congresbury who lost 1-0 at the Memorial Ground towards the end of November.
Watchet went down 5-1 at home to Stockwood Green last Saturday and are now 11 points adrift at the bottom of the table. Their only points picked up against Congresbury have been deducted because they called off three matches earlier this season.
Congresbury are lying 12th in the table, having won only four of their 19 matches.
Harding is unavailable on Saturday because he is attending a wedding which means captain and outfield player Charley Clausen is likely to play in goal.
Looking back on the defeat by Stockwood, Watchet boss Nick Sully said: “We gave them a three-goal start. They had a man sent off and we pulled a goal back. But they still looked the better side.”
