MINEHEAD Cricket Club’s Under 15s are through to the semi finals of the Taunton and District Youth Cricket League’s KO Cup after defeating their Taunton Deane counterparts in a close match..

Deane batted first and in their 20 overs scored 104 for five with 2 wickets for Logan after some outstanding fielding, in addition to which there were two outstanding catches from Harry S and Lewis.

In the Minehead run chase chase Sam and Harry S got off to a good start but as wickets fell, Harry P, Logan and Reiss all got double figures with the winning runs being scored by new boy Cam in the last over.

In the semi finals of the cup competition Minehead Under 15s will be at home to Taunton or Bridgwater..

Meanwhile, on Friday evening, Minehead Under 13s lost to North Curry after only making 79 all out of which Ben contributed 30 before having to retire while only Callum who made 11 made double figures.

However North Curry were made to battle hard for runs as Ben completed a fine spell of bowling taking four wickets for 9 runs from his four overs, but completed the win in the 19th over. Unsurprisingly Ben was named Player of the Match.

Minehead Under 11s lost on Sunday to Taunton having been in with a chance of winning but losing too many wickets towards the end. Chasing 240, Minehead made 201 after which Oliver was named Player of the Match.

Congratulations go to the three Minehead players who are on the Somerset Pathway - Heath in the Somerset Under 11s, and Chester is part of the Development Squad. Sam is in the Under 14 Somerset Development Squad and in their latest match on Sunday he top scored with 68 in a 66 run victory.
