AN error strewn first half almost cost Minehead Colts dearly when they took on Tor before eventully winning 29-22 at home.
The Barbarians took an early lead when scrum-half Ahern scored a try which he converted himself.
Tor caused Minehead a lot of problems at the breakdown, and won a number of turnover penalties. This led to them taking the lead with two tries as they carried hard from short range. Tor extended their lead with a penalty kick.
The young Barbarians struck back with a neat inside pass that sent Lock over after a strong carry by Stevens.
Trailing by five points at the break Minehead had the wind behind them in the second half. The second half saw a more cohesive Barbarian team, with more aggression in the tackles and better protection for the ball in contact.
However, it was Tor that scored first with another strong drive from short range.
Jeanes had come on and added some energy, Norrish and Reader were as keen as usual, but it was the heavy carrying of Lock and Krawczyk that wore down the opposition.
A quickly taken tap penalty by Ahern gained ground close to the Tor line before Lock picked up and forced his way over the line.
Minehead, looking to keep the ball alive, put pressure on the visitors. Another quick tap penalty saw Cudmore held up over the line before Cudmore finished off a fine effort. A clean lineout win gave Lynch room to hoist a high kick and Cudmore outpaced defenders to dive over.
With confidence flowing, smooth handling put Wyburn away and he sprinted towards the line, being caught just a few metres short. With time running out the Barbarians claimed the win, a penalty to Minehead was taken quickly by Stevens who powered over.
