MINEHEAD Cricket Club start the 2023 season in earnest when they face Taunton Deane Seconds at Vivary Park on Saturday, May 6.

Before then, however, Minehead, who were relegated from the WEPL Somerset Division at the end of last summer , have arranged some pre-season matches, the first of which is at home against Wellington on Sunday afternoon, which sadly the weather looks likely to put paid to.

Following that Minehead travel away to face Taunton Cricket Club at Taunton Vale Sports Club by which time hopefully the weather will have improved and the game will be possible.

Minehead are hoping to run three league sides again this year and while some new players have been attending pre-season nets, the club is always looking to recruit players of any age and ability.

In addition to their senior sides the Minehead club also have a thriving junior section with teams at Under 11,Under 13 and Under 15 who play in the Taunton and District Youth Cricket League.
