MINEHEAD Blues took on Wivey Wonderers in a challenging game and won by just one goal.

The first quarter started at a fast pace with good defending by the opposition, but accurate shooting gave Minehead a 4-3 lead.

The scores were level at 7-7 by half time but Minehead went into the third quarter fighting, changing positions to create more space in the centre third with an injection of energy and pace, and after a tense final quarter the Blues emerged 15-14 winners.

The Tanks Direct player of the match was Megan Coles, whose excellent shooting under pressure ultimately secured Minehead’s win.

n Minehead Netball Club are taking part in the Butlin’s Netball Weekend run by SCI sports this weekend.

Matches will be played at the 1610 netball courts in Minehead and the club would welcome some local support. Matches start from 1pm.
