THE South West Lakes Trust is teaming up with Channel Kayaks for a new adventure kayaking and fishing programme at Wimbleball Lake.
Their collaboration will enable people to sample kayaking and fishing, with Channel Kayaks providing the kayaks, qualified instructors, and accessories such as wetsuits, buoyancy aids, seats and paddles.
Novices, beginners and experts are welcome and there are no age or ability limitations.
There will also be a chance to try trout fishing at the same time, under the guidance of international angler Chris Ogborne and his team of professional fishing instructors and for no extra charge.
Channel Kayaks CEO Byron Baker Brown said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with such a professional and enthusiastic team from South West Lakes Trust.
“They know how special a place Wimbleball is and we hope that by adding this exciting new dimension to their watersports programme we will widen the audience awareness of what is a totally unique venue.”
And Alex Forster, the trust’s Exmoor Countryside and Angling Manager, said: “This event brings together the best of two very different sports, fly fishing and kayaking, and will hopefully attract a new audience as well as seasoned anglers and kayakers who want to try something new.”
The all-inclusive Wimbleball days will run from May onwards and cost £99 per person - for more information visit www.channelkayaks.uk or ring 07710 745211 or 01275 852736.
