WATCHET Town have moved up to within two points of leaders Burnham United after beating Westfield 3-0 at home in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League yesterday (Sat).

Watchet's star was Billy Jones who followed up his brace in the 4-2 away victory over Saltford the previous weekend by going one better and scoring a hat-trick.

Although still down in seventh place, Watchet can overtake Burnham if they win their match in hand.

Meanwhile Minehead are still without a win since September after they drew 1-1 at home against Ashcott - also in the first division.

Hubi Wejnerowski put Minehead ahead early on in the game but Ashcott drew level from the penalty spot to go in at half time 1-1.

Minehead, who were without 22-goal striker Guy Burns, had enough scoring chances to win the game but could not make the breakthrough.
