THE end of last month in Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club’s Ladies Section saw the Coronation Foursomes being contested for.
This was won by Ros Chidgey and Kay Luckett with 36 points. They go forward to a regional final. Second, also with 36 points, was Caz Cape and Hilary Eden. Ros and Kay won as they performed better on the second nine holes.
The start of May began with a Stableford competition won by Ginnette Bowyer on 37 points, shooting one below her handicap. Second was Ruth Ball on 36 points.
At the weekend a mixed match was played at home against Oake Manor. The format was Pinehurst Greensomes played in teams of two. Each Player drives then they switch balls for the second shot, then alternate shots after that. Twelve players came from Oake Manor followed by a roast dinner afterwards. Minehead was victorious 3 ½ to 2 ½.
