THE first three players in division one of Oake Manor Golf Club’s Stableford Competition all scored 37 points but. on count back. Robin Trott came first, Jamie Short was second while Chris Hume came third.
Paul Hadley jnr had the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 42 points. Jeremy Winter came second with 39 points while Samuel Turner was third with 38 points.
Paul Munday won the Sunday Stableford Competition scoring 41 points, Guy Turner came second with 39 points while Ian Blackwell was third with 37 points.
In the Ladies Sunday Stableford Competition Claire Tough was first with 34 points, Ladies Captain Daphne Priddy came second with 33 points and Jill Loader was third with 29 points.
The Ladies played a Stableford Competition on Tuesday. Charlotte Bolton won the event and division 1 with 36 points, narrowly ahead of Shane Bordier, also 36 points, in second place, Kate Foster came third with 33 points. Angela Warnes won division 2, scoring 35 points with Pat Snelling second with 34 points while Mary Beakes was third, also with 34 points.
The annual Bank Holiday Monday Mixed Greensomes Competition was held on the previous Monday for the Cob and Pen Trophy which was played in glorious conditions, but the course was set up with some tricky pin positions left over from the Club Championship the previous day.
Ladies Captain Daphne Priddy and John Matravers won the trophy, scoring 45 points. In second place were daughter and father Kayliegh and Paul Avey while in third place were Julie and Steve Cross. Paul Avey was nearest the pin on the 6th hole for the men. Daphne Priddy was nearest the pin on the 14th hole for the Ladies and Daphne Priddy and John Matravers were nearest the pin on the 18th hole in two shots.
