BELL All Stars clinched the Premiership title in the Watchet & District Men’s Skittles League for the fourth year on the trot after inflicting an 18-pin away defeat on second placed Bottoms Up, writes league secretary Alan Bulpin.
Matt Robinson, with 118, topped the alley for the Stars while Nathan Glynn hit 115 for the home side.
Steve Duck and Lewis Penfold scored 118 in the 37-pin away win over Phoenix Knights, Eben Harding being top for the home side with 114. This moves Castaways onto 31 points and third place.
Just a point behind are Allsorts after Ian Clapp, with 111, led them to a 23-pin away success against Has Beens whose Mark Clausen scored 106. This defeat all but condemns them to relegation to Division A.
Brandon Johnson scored a creditable 122 for Jack as they won away to Rebels by 34 pins, Tom McNoughton hitting 108 for the hosts. White Horse Stallions are clinging on to Premiership survival after Ben Wilson, with 106, led them to a 24 pin victory over QC Guys whose R Willis topped the alley with 117.
Three Ferrets move a step further away from the drop zone after Ashley Baker and Martyn Baker both scored 103 in the 23 pin away win against Railway Steamers who had Callum Tarr leading their scoring with 104. Highest Away Score Archie Walsh 144 Q C Guys
In Group A of the Landlords Cup, a score of 98 from Williton Club’s Darren Towells and Alan Bland steered them to a 39 pin win over Watchet Specials, Dan Rogers hitting 89 for the Specials and Phil Trunks, with 106, topped the alley in Wyndham Warriors’ 37-pin victory against Haddon Hillbillies whose Ian Rottenbury scored 100.
In Group B, Wyndham Pinheads’ Sam Towellls scored 105 in the 10-pin success over Barn Owls, for whom George Pike hit 103. Desmond Sealey knocked 96 for Rams as they defeated Dizzy’s Boys by 27 pins, Bernie Woodbury and Mark Mossman scoring 85 apiece for the Boys.
