THE Saturday Stableford Competition at Oake Manor Golf Club was well supported with more than 100 golfers taking part in the event.

Rob Larcombe won division 1, scoring 41 points with David Rossillo in second place with 40 points while Neil Hallett was third with 37 points. Steven Barham won division 2 with 44 points, the best score of the day, and won the Marie Curie Shield. Stephen Plowman came second with 41 points and Michael Bell came third with 40 points while in division 3 Andy Cooper was the winner with 42 points with Tim Richardson second on 39 points while Philip Marsh was third with 38 points.

Suzanne Ward won the Ladies Sunday Medal Competition scoring nett 76, Ladies Captain Mary Beakes came second with nett 77 with Karen Potter coming third with nett 78.

The Seniors played a Texas Scramble Competition on Monday and the first three teams all scored nett 59 but on countback Phil Grourk, Ian Hockey and Michael Speed were the winners with Michael Latham, John Phripp and Robert Sanders in second place while Malcom Musgrove, Paul Scribbins and Peter Taylor were third.

In the Ladies Tuesday Medal Competition Jenny Musgrove won division 1 with nett 73, Liz How came second with nett 75 and Angela Warnes was third with nett 77. Catherine Drysdale won division 2 with nett 68 , the best score of the day, while Judy Phripp came second with nett 69 while Ladies Captain Mary Beakes was third with nett 75.

Meanwhile, the Saturday Medal Competition the previous week at Oake was very close with the top two players scoring nett 67 but, on countback, Barry Hardwill was the winner with Paul Coleman coming second while Michael Bell was third with nett 68.
