OAKE Manor Golf Club held their club championship over the Bank Holiday weekend with the first round on the Saturday and round two on the Sunday.

A total of 124 golfers braved the very heavy spells of rain. Jamie Short was the Men’s Gross Champion with a gross score of 142 with Theo Jones runner up on 145. Dave Hill was the over 55 Gross Champion on 157. James Wilkinson was the Nett Champion with a nett score of 130 with runner up Gareth Nation, with nett 141.

Charlotte Bolton was the Ladies Gross Champion, scoring 181 while Helen White was runner up just one shot behind on 182. Helen was also the over 55 Ladies Champion. Jill Loader was the Nett Champion with nett 155 and Clair Tough was runner up with nett 158.

Theo Jones was the Junior Club Champion with gross 145 also Junior Nett Champion with nett 143.

Mark Lecompte won the Barbara Sadler Plate for the best nett score on the second day.

Gill and Paul Hadley won the Cob and Pen Trophy Mixed Greesomes competition on Bank Holiday Monday, scoring 42 points. Kate and Nigel Foster came second with 39 points while Daphne Priddy and Mark Lecompte were third with 37 points.

In the Bank Holiday Stableford Competition the first three players all scored 32 points but on count back David Savill was first, James Greehow second and Colin Barrell third.

On Tuesday the Ladies played a Stableford Competition for the Eileen Scragg Salver, Catherine Drysdale won the Trophywith 33 points, beating Jenny Musgrove also 33 points on count back.

Full results - Division one winner Jenny Musgrove, second Angela Warnes with 31 points while Julie Cross came third with 30 points. Catherine Drysdale won division two with Sheila Grant second with 28 points and Judy McKellar third, also with 28 points.
