COLD and windy conditions welcomed the Seniors of Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club to the tee last week, reminding them that autumn has now well and truly set in.
The first Bowmaker competition was definitely a game of two halves with every team finding the front nine challenging. At the end of a gruelling round the winners with 69 points were Willie Brown, David Atcherley-Symes and Rob Poirrier.
In second place with 67 points were Mark Watson, Bob Arthington and John Perkins while Mark Ruttley. Richard Austwick and Sandy Lyons came in third with 66 points.
The dank November mist hung low over the course throughout the Seniors’ monthly medal. Karl Granger deservedly took the honours with a two under par nett 70, continuing his excellent form.
Five players recorded a nett 71. In second place on countback was Richard Austwick, followed by Roger Green, Andy Hodgson, Dave Ball and Mark Watson.
