Golfer Steve lifts the Bushen Cup

STEVE Gay won the Bushen Cup, an individual medal, at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Course with a net score of 64, and also had the best gross with 73.

The next four places could only be sorted on countback with John Baker second, Brian Hamblin third, Luke Hopwood fourth and James Baker fifth, all returning a net score of 69.

The Weston Cup mixed foursomes stableford was won by husband and wife Sue and Dave Dennis (39 points) from Kim Francis-Hill and Graham Wells (34), and the President’s Trophy was won on countback by Chris Garwood and Nick Bangs (59) from Chris Yeates and Darren Kneeshaw (59) with Paul Rees and Phil Arbourne (64) third.
