THE Saturday Stableford Competition at Oake Manor Golf Club was well supported with more than 90 golfers taking part in the event.

The results were very close with Christopher Dubery being the overall winner with 39 points in division 2. Glyn Pearce came second with 38 points while Nicholas Fenn was third with 37 points.

The first two players in division 1 both scored 38 points with Paul Hadley winning on count back over Paul Flay who finished runner-up. James Macey was third with 37 points.

Steve Davis won the Sunday Stableford Competition with an excellent score of 43 points in division 1. Jack Jones came second with 39 points while Neil Blackmore came third with 37 points.

In division 2 Simon Hartstone came first with a very respectable score of 41 points, followed by Andrew Gent who was second with 38 points while Graeme Gladstone-Smith was third with 37 points.

Linda Sully won the Tuesday Ladies Barlow Cup Qualifying Competition, for bronze handicap players at Oake, with an incredible score of 48 points, 12 shots under her handicap. Judy McKellar was second in division 2 with 34 points and Karen Potter came third with 33 points.

Ladies Vice Captain Mary Beakes won division 1 with 41 points while Kathryn Salway came second with 38 points and Judith Phripp was third also with 38 points.

In the Tuesday Ladies Dickenson Cup Qualifying Medal Competition for Silver Handicap Ladies at Oake, Amanda Mather won with a score of nett 71, Pam Akers came second with nett 72 while Nancy Marshall was third with nett 77.

The Friday Midweek Stableford Competition had a low entry but the winner was Simon Molloy with 33 points while Simon Greaves came second with 30 points.
