MINEHEAD & West Somerset Golf Club Seniors’ week began with a Bowmaker competition with two groups returning to the clubhouse with 69 points.

After countback, the winners were Peter Young, Trevor Stephens and Peter Chapple with 69 points, ahead of Steve Gay, Doug Hayhoe and Malcolm Bruce. Third with 68 were Roger Read, Tony Connolly and Karl Granger.

The midweek competition was another close result. A full entry played in a Stableford with the final two groups producing the best two individual scores. First with 38 points was Noel Munson, followed by Doug Hayhoe with 36. Third place with 35 points on countback went to Bob Arthington ahead of Nigel Trevelyan.

Round Four of the Trafalgar was played when Karl Granger and Mike O’Keefe recorded a winning score of 42 points.

Second were Rob Poirrier and Steve Gay (40 pts), while Dave Ball and Trevor Stephens came third on countback with 39 points, ahead of Steve Woodbury and Chris Durman.
