WATCHET Town and Minehead are both back in action after a fortnight’s enforced break when they play home games in the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, November 22.
Watchet, still in search of that elusive first victory in the Premier Division, play Congresbury who have also not made the best of starts to the season (2p.m.).
Congresbury have won only three of their ten league matches and lost 6-2 away to Stockwood Green in the Premier and Division One Cup last weekend.
Watchet go into the game on minus three points, having called off three matches earlier this season. They have lost all nine of their league fixtures.
The Premier table is headed by Nailsea United who are unbeaten after 12 matches - and have a one-point lead over second-placed Wells City Reserves.
Nailsea are without a game this coming weekend which means Wells will go above them if they beat Staplegrove at home. Third-placed Ashton & Backwell United are home to Stockwood Green who are ninth.
Minehead will be looking for back-to-back wins under new manager Lee Todd when they play leaders Portishead Town Reserves who have lost only one of their league games this season (3p.m.).
Minehead have not played since they beat Glastonbury 3-0 away earlier this month, which was described afterwards as a ‘very good team performance’ by Todd. “The back three were solid and did not put a foot wrong,” he said.
Minehead are eighth in the table with only four wins from their 12 outings, two draws and eight losses.
Todd has taken over as manager from Craig Carr who stepped down recently ‘by mutual consent.’
Combe St Nicholas, who remain the only unbeaten side in the division and are third in the table, entertain ninth-placed Westfield who won 2-0 at Minehead at the beginning of this month.
