WATCHET Town will be without goalkeeper Jack Harding for their away match against Stockwood Green in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, February 7.

Watchet boss Nick Sully has played Charley Clausen in goal in the past, but he said this week: “Charley has always proved a very able deputy in goal in the past but he prefers to play out on the field. It’s something we’ll decide on later on.”

Watchet go in the game bottom of the table, having had their only points they have gained deducted after pulling out of three matches earlier this season.

Watchet’s game at Stockwood is one of three successive away matches for the seasiders, the others being at nearby Staplegrove and at Yatton & Cleeve United.

Watchet have not played since they lost 4-0 away to Stockwood Wanderers a month ago.

“We’re fully booked up until the end of April,” added Sully. “We don’t want to be playing games into May. We cannot play at the Memorial Ground in May.”

Fixtures for the Premier Division on Saturday, February 7: Ashton & Backwell United v Stockwood Wanderers, Clevedon United v Nailsea United, Congresbury v Chard Town, Stockwood Green v Watchet Town.

Chilcompton Sports have a three-point lead at the top of the Premier Division but have a Senior Cup tie at home to Ashcott on Saturday, February 7.

It means that Nailsea United, who have a game in hand on Chilcompton, can go top on goal difference if they beat Clevedon United in an away game. Clevedon are down in tenth spot but have played only 15 league fixtures. Third-placed Ashton & Backwell United entertain Stockwood Wanderers who are just above the relegation zone.

Two teams will be relegated with Watchet in deep trouble at the bottom.
