WATCHET Town have called off their Somerset County Cup-tie away to Combe St Nicholas tomorrow (Sat).

Watchet manager Nick Sully explained: “It was felt it was in the club’s best interests to forfeit the tie with it being in a county cup competition.”

Earlier this season Watchet made use of a new clause introduced by the County League aimed at helping those with a shortage of players to prevent possible withdrawal from the league whereby ‘ it is permissible to postpone three fixtures in a row, allowing time and leeway for problems to potentially be resolved.’

Meanwhile, Minehead will be looking to beat Burnham United at home - for the second time in eight days - in the same competition.

Minehead beat Burnham 5-0 at Irnham Road in a league match last Saturday.
