THERE is a full programme of matches in the Centregreat Taunton & District Saturday Football League this coming weekend (Sept 5).

The league consists of 35 teams this season, compared to 31 last winter, with ten in Division One, 11 in Division Two and 14 in Division Three.

Minehead Reserves, who have enjoyed a good build-up to the new season, kick off with a tough away match against Galmington who finished third in 2025-26. Minehead beat Wellington Road Dons 7-1 at home in their latest pre-season warm-up game with 17-year-old Haiden Griffiths snapping up a hat-trick.

First division champions Racehorse Rovers play at home to Premier Division winners Wembdon while newcomers Taunton Town Reserves are away to Nether Stowey. Taunton start as firm favourites to win the division.

Relegated Wellington A play at home to Wembdon Reserves on the all-weather pitch at Court Fields School in the first division while former league champions Bridgwater Sports entertain Dunwear United Reserves.

Taunton Town Under 23s are another new side to the league and they start with a home game against Watchet Town Reserves in the second division.

Minehead Colts are home to North Petherton Reserves while Bridgwater Sports Colts are away to newcomers AFC Taunton.
