PORLOCK Ladies went down 2-1 at home to a strong Street side in Division Two of the Somerset Women’s Football League.

Street opened the scoring within the first five minutes, putting Porlock on the back foot early. But the home side responded with determination and only five minutes later, Julie Netherway made her mark from the right wing, firing in a fantastic goal to level the scores.

Chloe and Sarah kept the pressure on high up the pitch, forcing the Street keeper into a mistake—handling the ball outside the area. Porlock were awarded a dangerous free kick directly in front of goal. Lauren stepped up and struck it cleanly, but despite a flurry of rebounds and bodies in the box, the ball somehow stayed out.

The second half picked up with the same intensity, both teams hungry to grab the win. Chances came at both ends, and Porlock’s keeper Hannah Worth was in top form, making a string of crucial saves to keep her side in the game.

Street managed to regain the lead with a lofted effort that just tipped over the top of the keeper, making it 2-1.But Porlock weren’t done. They pressed hard in the final stages, pushing for a deserved equaliser. Despite creating several promising chances, time ran out before they could convert.

This was a thrilling, hard-fought second game of the season from both sides. The match was played with high energy, passion, and a brilliant display of sportsmanship throughout. A very evenly matched contest that could have gone either way. Porlock wish Street the best of luck in their upcoming games— and look forward to the rematch! Player of the Match: Hannah Worth.
