THE penultimate round of Premier Division matches in the Watchet & District Men’s Skittles League brought some fine individual performances, none more so than Eben Harding’s score of 147 for Phoenix Knights in their 21 pin home win over high flying Allsorts whose Shane Coxhead hit 120, writes league secretary Alan Bulpin.

The Knights now sit one point from safety with the final round of matches to be played next week. With the league title secured Bell All Stars took on Railway Steamers in their final away match and recorded a narrow nine pin victory, Andy Bryant knocking 108 for the Stars and Shane Yaw 107 for the home side.

Bottoms Up are this season’s runners up after Brandon Walsh hit a superb 127 in the 13 pin home win over third place Castaways for whom Nick Lane hit 121. Andy Pyne with 115 led Jack to a 5 pin away success against White Horse Stallions whose Chris Weetch topped the alley with 117.

James Parish hit a faultless 134 as Rebels finished their home matches with a convincing 61 pin defeat of Three Ferrets whose Ashley Baker led their scoring with 103. Has Beens v Q C Guys no result. Highest Away Score: Archie Walsh 144 QC Guys

In Group A of the Landlords Cup, a top of the alley score of 96 from Watchet Specials’ Dave Perkins helped them to a 7 pin victory over Footy Fockers whose Andrew Duffield hit 81.

A match winning knock of 116 from Alan Bland led Williton Club to a 30 pin success over Wyndham Warriors whose Phil Trunks led their scoring with 98.

Footy Fockers and Williton Club qualify for the semifinals with the Fockers winning the group curtesy of the head to head result against the Club.

In Group B of the Landlords Cup, an alley topping score of 108 from Wyndham Pinheads’ Keith Jones led them to a 19 pin win over Dungbeetles whose Aaron Kendall hit 103.

Barn Owls handed out a 79 pin defeat to Dizzy’s Boys who had Bernie Woodbury scoring 91, Tom Andrews hitting 105 for the Owls.

Group B has finished with three teams on six points. The committee are meeting on Friday to discuss. The Front Pin Cup draw will also take place.
