PORLOCK Reserves went into their home match against high flying Galmington Reserves in Division Two of the Taunton & District Saturday League looking for another victory.

But, at the end of an action packed encounter that had everything from early wonder goals, momentum swings, and a late surge from the visitors, they lost 5-3.

Porlock came flying out of the blocks, stunning Galmington with two moments of brilliance inside the opening 15 minutes. First, Ryan Cape unleashed a spectacular strike to open the scoring, before Jack Dale followed up with a wonder goal of his own to double the lead.

However, Galmington FC Reserves, who had won five of their first seven games this season, soon found their rhythm and later on in the first half, they pulled two goals back just before the break to send both sides in level at 2–2.

The hosts started the second half buzzing and playing with real intent. Jordon Simpson produced a dazzling solo run, weaving past three defenders before delivering a pinpoint cross for Liam Shopland, who smashed home to restore Porlock’s lead.

But the visitors refused to back down. Their skipper levelled the match with a thunderous effort into the top corner, leaving keeper Connor with no chance.

As Porlock began to tire, Galmington FC Reserves grew stronger, netting a powerful header from a dangerous ball into the box before adding a fifth goal in the closing minutes to seal the win.

Despite the result, Porlock showed real attacking flair and determination throughout the match and can feel proud of their spirited performance.

The Porlock Man of the Match was awarded to Archie Goddard for his tireless work rate and composure under pressure.
