MINEHEAD and Watchet Town will both be back in action in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League after a break of a fortnight.

Minehead have a tough home game against Peasedown Miners Welfare and manager Lee Todd said: “We’re looking forward to the game but Peasedown are a very good side.

“We trained as normal last week but did not arrange a friendly against anyone. Now that the season has started it would have been difficult to have found a side without a game.”

Minehead expect to have a near full-strength squad of 15 players although midfielder Dec Green and winger Tom Barnes will be missing.

“We’ve also got a couple of players returning,” added Todd who is in his first full season in charge, having taken over from Craig Carr.

Peasedown are lying second in the table, but have played more games than most other sides, while Minehead are down in 11th spot, having played only four matches, winning one and drawing twice.

Watchet will be looking to improve on their poor start to the season, having lost all three of their games. They are bottom with a minus goals deficit of 16.

With their reserves also playing, it will be the first time this season Watchet have fielded two sides on a Saturday.

Top match in the division is the clash between Ashcott, who are lying third, and leaders Paulton Rovers Sports who have a 100 per cent record. Westfield, who are fourth, are away to Imperial.
